Survived By: Surviving her are her children, Brenda (Steve) Johnson of Austin, TX, Mike (Rose) Stoneking of Shelbyville, and Julie (Ron) Billingsley of Noblesville; brother, Russell H. McKinney of New Palestine; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

INDIANAPOLIS- Katherine “Louise” Stoneking DeRolf, age 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 15, 2011, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.  Born on December 25, 1927, in Warsaw, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Charles V. and Lena K. (Maxwell) McKinney.  Louise married Merrill E. Stoneking in 1945 and worked for RCA in Indianapolis from 1952 until 1969.  She then earned an associates degree from the Marian College of Nursing in 1979 and worked at various nursing homes in the Greenfield area including Sugar Creek Nursing Home, Brandywine, and Regency Place where she was the Director of Nursing.  Merrill Stoneking preceded her in death in 2001 and she remarried Fred G. DeRolf in 2003.  He also preceded her in death in May of 2008.

 

Mrs. DeRolf attended the New Life United Methodist Church in Fairland where she taught Sunday School and was part of the Bible Study Fellowship.

 

Surviving her are her children, Brenda (Steve) Johnson of Austin, TX, Mike (Rose) Stoneking of Shelbyville, and Julie (Ron) Billingsley of Noblesville; brother, Russell H. McKinney of New Palestine; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.  Preceding her in death were her first and second husband; sister, Adeen Spry; grandchild, Olivia Gibbs; and great-grandchild, Jacob Stoneking.    

 

Visitation will be on Friday, March 18, 2011, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.  Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at New Life United Methodist Church in Fairland.  Pastor Randy Slaven and Reverend Jerry Crause will be officiating.  Burial will take place at New Palestine Cemetery.
