Mr. Brandenburg was born in Cicero, Indiana, on November 11, 1936, and was the son of the late Harry K. and Mae V. (Scherer) Brandenburg.

The early years of Mr. Brandenburg were spent in Noblesville where he was a 1954 graduate of Noblesville High School.  Following his schooling, Jim served in the United States Army, 1954 – 1957, during the Korean War and spent twenty-eight months in Germany.

He was married on February 14, 1958, in Lebanon, Indiana to Jeannie (Jamison) Brandenburg.  Mrs. Brandenburg survives.

For thirty years Jim was employed in Indianapolis at the U. S. Naval Avionics Center.  He then worked for five years at Crane Naval Weapons Support Center near Bedford where he retired in 1992.  In retirement, he worked at Fairway Golf Course north of Lebanon for several years.

His biggest passion being his family, Jim enjoyed his home and family activities.   Jim was a proud father and grandfather who reveled in his children and grandchildren.  He particularly liked watching his grandchildren as they participated in various sporting activities.  His most recent joy was watching his granddaughter, Lauren Conley, compete in the Sagamore Conference diving competition at Crawfordsville where she finished in second place.  He was also proud of Emily’s softball participation, Carly’s volleyball play, Sean who dove on the swim team and plays soccer, and Lauren who also dives and was a cheerleader.  Jim also was an avid golfer and he enjoyed woodworking, reading and vacationing.
